| Document imaging is probably the single most important technology to be offered by the Center. Paperless offices have always been talked about, but for just a few years a reality. Since the cost of technology has descreased, it is now affordable to embark into the document imaging arena. For any business there are real and almost immediate cost savings from document imaging. While the costs for each business and the manpower needed to pursue document imaging are a factor stopping many businesses, it is primarily the change that occurs as a result of document imaging. Imagine being able to retrieve a document from your desk, rather than going to the basement and hunting through boxes.
Since the Center is in the process of developing a regional network along with strategic partners that extends from southcentral Kansas to Wichita, this document imaging capability also targets the sharing of information that is necessary within the service area. It may seem like a big jump, but once that initial backlog is broken down it becomes a natural part of doing business. Don't wait any longer.
