Rural Health Futures, Inc. worked with Allegheny Health Education Research Foundation in preparing and submitting a National Cancer Institute - Cancer Education grant application. The purpose of this grant is to develop a model community cancer center education outreach program that applies advanced telemedicine/telecommunications technology to a cancer education/consultation system that will link leading edge cancer clinical and academic research hubs with rural and remote front line heath care delivery systems. A variety of geographic locations have been selected to develop and evaluate this community outreach education activity. These participating facilities encompass a range of agencies from urban tertiary health care to regional networks that serve remote communities.
