Innovative Media for Rural Alcohol Prevention

Rural Health Futures, Inc. worked with the Rocky Mountain Behavioral Science Institute, Inc. (RMBSI) to prepare and submit a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant application. The goal of this project is to develop economical methods of delivering alcohol prevention programming to rural communities using interactive teleconferencing and traditional media. Rural based Distance Learning and Telemedicine networks will be utilized for program delivery. RHF and RMBSI will work with two nationally recognized telemedicine networks to evaluate this new approach of delivery media on alcohol prevention to rural areas. The two telemedicine networks - KAWNET and TAHO will expand the use of their current telemedicine networks and open them up to the public for education using interactive teleconferencing.
