RHF worked with Tri Valley Health Systems, located in Southwestern Nebraska, to prepare and submit an REA application in January 1994. The application prepared for this group was for both a Distance Learning and a Medical Link project. For Cambridge Hospital and its clinics, the medical link project was proposed to coordinate patient care, physician consultation and patient education. Specialist from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, Nebraska and from Mayo Clinic in Minnesota agreed to conduct the physician/patient consultations via interactive teleconferencing. For the Distance Learning portion, five school districts (Arapahoe, Cambridge, Bartley, Indianola, and Oxford) proposed a teleconferencing system for student education and distance learning opportunities for adult professional education.
