Wanda: It was Icardi’s idea to leave Inter Milan, he doesn’t like my work and only wants me to be a husband and a child
In an interview with the latest Vanity Fair, Wanda talked about Icardi’s departure from Inter Milan and Icardi’s machismo.
For example, the decision to leave Inter Milan, many fans blame you
Wanda: He always only thinks about doing what he wants to do. I just write his thoughts on paper. Of course, it’s easy to blame women, especially in football, a male-dominated sport.
Can you tell me the specific incident of being discriminated against?
Wanda: I had to find a man to replace me a few years ago in order to sign a contract because the team president refused to deal with women. Sometimes I think that although we have made progress in empowering women, there are many areas where we are still disadvantaged, and this has affected my marriage.
What does (influence on your marriage) mean?
Wanda: Players’ wives rarely have jobs. For a long time I was only parenting, but now I want to return to work, in Argentina I have been invited to many shows, I really like being on TV, and in Italy I have two projects about to start. That doesn’t mean ignoring the kids, Icardi trains for two hours a day and the rest of the time he’s at home, he can take care of the kids, can’t he?
But he doesn’t want to do this?
Wanda: He doesn’t like my distraction from my family, and for me, independence is my path to freedom. So he kept me over and over again, that day he drove a car full of flowers to pick me up at the airport, then asked me out to dinner and said to me, “I won’t give up”, which is fine, but I know , if we get back together and I have a new job offer within two months, we can get back to square one.
