Winning the World Cup for Portugal is the biggest and most ambitious dream of my career. Fortunately, I have won many international championships, including in Portugal. But it is my biggest dream to help my country win the World Cup.
I fight for it, work hard for this dream. In the five World Cups I have played in the past 16 years, I have always stood beside my great teammates and won the support of millions of Portuguese. I have never given up on my teammates and I have never given up on this delusion.
Unfortunately, this dream ended yesterday. There are a lot of comments, reports and speculations from the outside world, and there is no point in responding to them. I just want you all to know that my dedication to Portugal has not changed for a moment. I always fight for everyone’s goals, and I will never turn my back on my teammates and my country.
