According to an exclusive report by Mike McGrath, a well-known reporter of the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea are considering taking Felix of Atletico Madrid on loan to strengthen Porter’s offensive ability in the second half of the season.
Felix, 23, will be sold at the right price when the transfer window opens next week, and according to Spanish sources, Atletico Madrid are ready to accept an offer from Chelsea as they want to return to their place in the Champions League.
Porter’s January target includes a centre-back to compete for a place in the first team, but his top priority is a winger to support Chelsea’s attacking firepower of just 17 goals this season.
Chelsea are considering a contract with the option of a buyout or a forced buyout, depending on how Atletico wants Felix to leave four seasons after the Portuguese international moved from Benfica to Madrid for more than £100m.
After Diego Simone fell out of favor-he has started only one Champions League game since September-Atletico Madrid do not expect to recoup the fees they paid in 2019, when Felix was in the spotlight of other Premiership teams.
While Chelsea’s rivals have been keeping an eye on Felix, chairman Todd Burley is thought to be willing to strike a deal quickly. Felix will compete as a left winger, he can also play on the right, and Kay Haverts will be the center.
Porter hopes to add a central defender to his squad in January, with Monaco’s Benoit Badia Shiller in his sights, and the French international is expected to be worth more than £30 million.
Chelsea are a long-time admirer of Gvadiol in Leipzig, but the Croatian centre-back now has other European teams vying for him.
