According to NBC, Brazil’s “ball king” Pele died on December 29th at the age of 82. Subsequently, the Brazilian Santos Football Club announced that Pele’s funeral will be held on January 3.
On the morning of January 2, local time, Bailey’s coffin will leave the hospital and be transported to the Villa Belmiro Stadium on the outskirts of Sao Paulo and placed in the center of the stadium. The farewell ceremony for the body will begin at 10:00 on the 2nd and last until 10:00 on the 3rd. It is reported that Pele has played some of the best games of his career at the Villa Bell Miro Stadium.
After the ceremony, the procession carrying the coffin will cross the streets of Santos and pass by Bailey’s mother’s door. Bailey’s mother is 100 years old and she is bedridden and delirious. Finally, Pele will be buried in a graveyard in Santos, a ceremony attended only by family members.
