the European Court of Justice issued a statement on the European Super case that the FIFA’s requirement for prior approval for the establishment of new competitions is in line with EU competition law. According to the interpretation of Marca, the opinion of the European Court of Justice proved that although the European Super League is free to create its own league, it cannot continue to participate in FIFA and UEFA football matches without the authorization of FIFA and UEFA.
Bernd Reichart, CEO of Ouchao Promotion, said: “the Attorney General’s opinion is a step in an ongoing case and we are pleased that the right of third parties to organize pan-European club competitions has been recognized.”
