December 30-Sports Weekly quoted the Israeli media “Sports No. 1” as reported that former seaport coach Lecco has been listed as a candidate for coach of Maccabi in Tel Aviv and is expected to work with Zahawei, the former first striker of the Chinese Super League.
In fact, before Lecco left the Shanghai seaport, he and Bijia giants Anderlecht had a lot of rumors. Lecco said at the time: “first of all, we have to finish the season at the end of the Chinese Super League, and then we will see what will happen in the future.”
Tel Aviv Maccabi is not a popular candidate for Lecco’s next stop after he was dismissed from the seaport. As a generation of Croatian international, Lecco has a high status in the eyes of fans in the motherland, especially his former club Hejduk.
