January 05 According to the latest news from The Athletic UK Chelsea reporter Simon Johnson
Chelsea held talks with Benfica in London last night over the possible signing of Enzo Fernandes, according to reports.
Benfica president Rui Costa, Enzo’s agent Jorge Mendes and Chelsea bosses were all in attendance.
Enzo’s release clause is £106 million ($128 million), a price Chelsea hope to negotiate down.
They believe no club is willing to pay that price.
The two sides have not yet reached any agreement.
TA reported earlier this week that Benfica are in no rush to sell a player who made just 25 appearances, signed from River Plate in July.
Correspondent Adam Crafton said that Chelsea are negotiating with Shakhtar Donetsk this week to sign Mudrik.
Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergei Palkin will travel to the UK.
Arsenal are interested in Mudrik, but they and the Ukrainian side have yet to reach any agreement for the striker.
